It’s been over four years since I had my breast augmentation with Dr. Mast. I wasn’t unhappy with my appearance, just wanted a little lift after recently becoming divorced. ( I did not have any implants…just a lift). After surgery Dr. Mast inserted JP drains bilaterally, and I had quite a bit of bruising, and also a lot of swelling on the right breast. After several days, the suture site on the right opened up, so I called the office. I was seen by his PA, because he wasn’t available, and she shared pictures with him via phone. I continued to see his PA over the next couple weeks. Being reassured that it would heal fine. The site continued to open and was pretty ugly. I was reassured that it would be fine and didn’t need closure, and the site would heal within time. I finally saw Dr Mast about three weeks into the treatment, and was told he could do a small revision in the office if needed. I have a scar the size of a half dollar on the right, both breast bottomed out, and a pucker where the JP drain was. I still have some pain on the right side, my right nipple dips in, and I am uneven now. I did get two more opinions from two very well known surgeons in town. They both agreed that it was a failed surgery. Dr. Mast did offer to redo the procedure, and agreed the surgery failed. I would be responsible for Medical facility fee of $500.00. A refund for a failed surgery was not an option for me per their office manager. But, at the end of the consult he told me he usually has someone close the sutures for him. I scheduled for surgery, and cancelled. I couldn’t get out of my head that he was possibly going to have someone other than himself close my sutures. I was not confident in him repairing surgically what he had so badly done the first time. Please get several opinions, and ask the questions. Who may or may not be assisting. Keep in mind Dr. Mast is known for his reconstructive surgery skills. This was just a lift

He only cares about the insurance money. I was diagnosed with droopy eyelids effecting my vision. After the surgery I was still having some issues with my vision being obstructed. When I informed him him about it on the follow up appointment he said "You also need your eyebrows lifted, they are weighing down your eyelids. Insurance considers that as cosmetic and they won't pay for it. So we are done!" And I was dismissed. Never asked if I could afford it myself.

Dr. Mast is a one of a kind surgeon. When I was under the care of his team, I was completely safe, supported, and comfortable. They made sure I was informed, they were polite, and extremely knowledgeable. Everyone on his team was truly the best at what they do. I couldn’t recommend Dr. Mast more highly than I currently do.
