I intentionally waited a full year before writing this review because I wanted to give the most honest, complete reflection possible now that I am one year post surgery. Dr. Kozak was my second opinion. Initially, I consulted with a plastic surgeon recommended by a friend whose work I admired on Instagram. However, I was discouraged to hear that they “didn’t think my insurance would cover my breast reduction”and they were admit about not trying. My primary care physician then recommended Dr. Kozak to me after I told her about my first consultation experience. She had personally undergone a procedure and shared her experience with such confidence that she encouraged me to at least meet him. From the moment I walked into his office, I felt an instant connection. Dr. Kozak embodies the top qualities anyone should look for in a plastic surgeon: Expertise
- He thoroughly explained every detail of my procedure both the medical terminology and the common terms so it was extremely clear I knew what he was explaining. Not having a medical background I felt silly with the questions I was asking but his depth of knowledge and ability to translate complex medical information into understandable language gave me confidence in him and his skilks. Honesty & Integrity- 
He was transparent about what was achievable (especially as a woman with dark skin), what recovery would realistically look like (with my three kids under 6), and what the long-term results would be. Our family had a trip planned post surgery and with his feedback we arranged our timeline and I’m thankful for his advice. Clear Communication- 
He listened carefully to my goals and concerns… even through some tears I had :) I never felt rushed during any appointment or phone call. Every question I had was answered with clarity, patience, and professionalism. Bedside Manner- 
Dr. Kozak is not only highly skilled, he is warm, personable, and genuinely caring. He made me feel comfortable and understood from my first appointment. Professional Team- 
Every single person in the office treated me with kindness and professionalism. From the front desk to the clinical staff I felt welcomed. By the time of my surgery, they felt like family. Now, one year later, I can confidently say choosing Dr. Kozak was one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself. My results are beautiful, natural, and life changing but what stands out even more is how safe and supported I felt throughout the entire process. My only moment of hesitation was not being able to find pictures of his work online. At first I was taken back but those nerves didn’t override how I felt when I was in the office so I continued to ask questions and go with my instincts because I know maintaining a social media presence is practically a full-time job. It can also be misleading, profiles can be curated and only showcase highlight reels. I’m glad I focused on how I felt in the office instead of what I couldn’t find online. If you’re looking for a plastic surgeon who combines surgical excellence with integrity, compassion, and professionalism, Dr. Kozak sets the standard. I am beyond grateful.

Dr. Kozak was the plastic surgeon on call when my son was taken to the ER (Capital Health) for a deep laceration on his forehead. Unfortunately, we did not meet Dr. Kozak because he refused to come in to do the necessary stitches. My son is a young child and due to the cut being in a prominent place on his face and it being jagged, we asked for it to be closed by a specialist in order to minimize scarring. Dr. Kozak was texted a picture of the laceration and was aware of my sons young age, the fact that we are from out of town, have friends watching our even younger child, and knew we had already been waiting in the ER for 4 hours. We respectfully pleaded with him several times and he flat out refused to come in. I understand doctors are busy, but this surgeon could have taken a small amount of his time-while on call-to make a potentially big difference in my son’s life. The only thing we were offered was an appointment with Dr. K to do the stitches the following afternoon despite the fact that the laceration was still bleeding through gauze. We ended up driving an hour to another hospital to wait in another ER to then finally see a plastic surgeon. While every person we interacted with at Capital Health ER was truly incredible, we are so disappointed by the lack of compassion of Dr. Kozak. I would not recommend him if you would like a caring surgeon.

My husband and I are so grateful to Dr. Kozak and his team. Dr. Kozak is a very professional, skilled and confident plastic surgeon who performed my diep flap breast and nipple reconstruction after my double mastectomy. I couldn't be happier with my results! Dr. Kozak's compassionate bedside manner and his ability to listen combined with his expertise put me and my husband at ease and I felt completely cared for through the entire process.
