I had hand surgery performed by Dr. Huntsman 7 weeks ago. His skill level has to be off the charts! I practically have full function of that hand. Initially there was a fair amount of discomfort but nothing near what I had anticipated. I can’t say enough about Dr. Huntsman and recommend him without reservation.

Had bilateral mastectomy with masculinization done. Pros: -short travel time -nipple graft technique excellent Cons: - liposuction technique leaves a lot of room for improvement. I am left with bilateral pockets under my arms and at the midline. - suture technique not great especially for someone board certified in plastics. I have a small pocket that fills with purulence (puss) on my left side - during consult was told it would be a "1.5 procedure surgery" meaning that he would have to revise it. This doesn't sit well for 2 reasons: 1) I've seen this same surgery done right in 1 shot. 2) I was mislead to believe that the costs for the 2nd revision procedure would be lumped with the 1st surgery. Post surgically I was informed that that in fact was not the case and due to insurance red tape have been unable to have a revision done. - I personally know a nurse that worked with him who noted him to be unprofessional and downright unsanitary

My experience wit Dr. Huntsman was awful from the moment I walked in. He was so rude and condescending when he spoke to me, and presented himself as if he didn't feel like preforming the surgery. I never even got the gown on. I ended up walking out on the surgery. The Surgeon I saw originally was out of the country. Dr. Huntsman was there instead. I had never even met him before I walked into the proceedure room. He didn't even take time to introduce himself. He just started in talking down to me and saying he didn't know why we were doing the surgery or where he was supposed to be cutting me. I was baffled! That certainly didn't inspire a sense of confidence or comfort about him preforming the surgery. He hadn't even looked at my chart! This was after I'd been sitting in the waiting room for an hour (30 mins past when my surgery was scheduled to begin.) If I hadn't gone up to the desk to ask what was going on, who knows how long I would have been sitting there. The P.A. in the room appeard to be ashamed of Dr. Huntsman's behavior and offered a look of apology and sympathy as he started to read the location of the mass off of my chart. Dr Huntsman dismissed the PA's words abd proceeded to speak to me condescendingly, telling me that I might as well leave it in there if it only bothers me sometimes. Telling me that the PROBABILITY of it being malignant was low and I'd PROBABLY be FINE if I just left it. I looked at him in shock and said "I've seen my doctor, had an ultrasound, and saw a surgeon. I'm here today to have surgery and you're telling me you think I shouldn't be!?! It hurts me, and theres an 18% chance that it's malignant. I've gone through all sorts of inconvenience, and mental preparation to get here for this today, but if you don't want to do it, I don't want you cutting me. So I said forget it. I'm not doing this. The surgeon left the room. The Nurse and PA apologized for him. The Nurse was trying to make excuses for Dr Huntsman and suggested I have my boyfriend (who found the suspicious mass in the first place, but is a general contractor, not a doctor) come in and show the surgeon where it is, so he'd know where to cut. You have got to be kidding me! I was so upset I decided to leave and stopped at the front desk on my way out to let them know what happened and that since Dr. Huntsman didn't want to do the surgery and found it pointless, I would not be having it done and not to charge me or my insurance company for any of it. I'm still so appalled and frustrated. I wouldn't recommend Dr Huntsman to anyone.
