I strongly urge anyone considering surgery with Dr. Toranto to get a second opinion. On Feb 13, 2024, I had an orbital fracture. Dr. Toranto pressured me to proceed immediately, claiming insurance might not cover it laterβa fear-based tactic I regret falling for. The First Surgery Failed: Dr. Toranto installed a titanium plate 6mm too high in my socket. This severe error permanently misaligned my left eyeball, causing visible disfigurement and focusing problems. The plate had to be removed after four months. The Second Surgery Was Incomplete: I instructed Dr. Toranto to remove the massive scar tissue, but he failed to listen. This left the height issue uncorrected. Permanent, Life-Altering Result: Both surgeries were failures. I am now left with a permanently misplaced, high left eyeball that no other surgeon will touch. I could see fine before his procedures; now my life is permanently altered due to his errors and alleged pressure tactics.

π¨ Warning: Two Botched Surgeries Result in Permanent Eye Damage and Disfigurement π¨ I strongly urge anyone considering surgery with Dr. Toranto to seek a second opinion and proceed with extreme caution. I presented to the Sharp Memorial Emergency Room on February 13, 2024, with an orbital fracture. Dr. Toranto was assigned to my case and immediately pushed for surgery. Alleged Coercive Tactics Dr. Toranto used a fear-based tactic to rush my decision. He stated that if I did not proceed with the surgery immediately, my insurance might refuse to cover the procedure later. This pressure convinced me to undergo an unnecessary operation out of fear of future financial and medical complications. This decision began a miserable, permanent, life-altering journey. First Botched Surgery and Permanent Damage The first surgery involved an antiquated method using a titanium plate. Dr. Toranto installed this plate approximately 6 millimeters too high in my orbital socket. This severe error immediately misaligned my left eyeball, causing visible disfigurement and serious functional problems. I was forced to wait four months for healing, only for the mistake to be confirmed. The plate had to be removed. Second Botched Surgery and Lack of Care Prior to the second surgery, I specifically instructed Dr. Toranto to remove all scar tissue that had accumulated in the massive void created by the incorrectly placed plate. He failed to listen to or follow this critical instruction. After the removal, I had to wait another four months for the final results. The failure to remove the scar tissue meant the surgical outcome was unchanged: my left eyeball remains permanently displaced and too high. Life-Altering Consequences The permanent misplacement of my eye has made focusing on work and daily activities extremely difficult. This entire ordeal, which was supposed to correct a stable injury, has permanently damaged my eyesight and significantly reduced my quality of life. Before Dr. Toranto's intervention, I could see perfectly fine. Now, no other surgeon is willing to touch the permanent damage. Dr. Toranto may seem like a "nice guy," but this cannot mask the devastating surgical errors and the alleged manipulative tactics used to secure the procedure. Do not make the same mistake I did. Avoid Dr. Toranto. This experience was a costly nightmare that has left me with permanent disfigurement and functional impairment.

Jason D. Toranto, MD, FAC was brought in when I was re-admitted to the hospital for a bad infection, after a Quadruple Bypass surgery. Iβm so glad he was! He utilized techniques I had never heard of for treatment. There were days I was truly down in the hospital, but after talking to him, I knew it would be ok. He followed up, ensuring I was healed. Dr. Toranto and his staff were always friendly and professional. Jasmin and Chiara were always so helpful. I truly felt cared for, thank you Dr. Toranto and staff!
