Dr. Larson is an exceptionally talented specialist in lipedema surgery. I personally had stage 3, nearly stage 4 lipedema affecting my lower and upper extremities. The pain was unbearable, and I truly needed surgical help. Dr. Larson and his team were incredible from start to finish. They guided me step by step through everything—from insurance approval to pre-op preparation and post-op care. Dr. Larson is kind, compassionate, and has outstanding bedside manners. He never makes you feel rushed. Every decision is made together, and he takes the time to explain all available options and the best course of action. One of the most comforting aspects was his availability—he and his team were reachable by text 24/7, and most of the time, Dr. Larson himself would call me back. Dr. Larson and his team are incredible! I first met Dr. Larson almost a year ago when I was diagnosed with Lipedema. Before finding him, I’d consulted with two other surgeons who were focused on cash payments and left me unsure about insurance coverage. Dr. Larson was completely different as he set up a single case agreement before surgery, so I knew exactly what to expect financially. His office also connected me with other doctors to help navigate the challenging insurance process. I work full-time, so gathering everything I needed took time, but in June 2025, I had my first surgery, and I’m so glad I did. Dr. Larson was very involved, personally checking in on me during recovery and seeing me whenever I had concerns. I’m now three months post-op and healing beautifully. I’m continuing to work with his office on resubmitting codes for future surgeries to complete my treatment plan.

I’ve had two lipedema leg surgeries with two different surgeons (1 year apart), so now I know so much more about what to look for and what to expect in a lipedema surgeon, and my second surgeon, Dr. John Larson, is the one to go to, and I only wish he had also been my first surgeon. One of the many positive differences is that Dr. Larson takes the time to do your surgery right, to remove the lipedema tissue in a careful way, and as a result, right after surgery, even under the bandages, I could see knee bones! I haven’t seen those knees for decades, and I’m only one week post-op at this point, but I can’t wait to see how well and how far I can walk now! Also, my recovery so far has been sooooooo much better with Dr. Larson than my first surgery, with no complications, much more post-op care from Dr. Larson and his great team, including Bianca and Laura, and less post-op pain. I had an amazing experience with Dr. Larson and his team! From the initial consultation to the post-op care, everything was seamless and professional. Dr. Larson took the time to listen to my goals and provided expert guidance, making me feel completely comfortable and confident in my decision. The bedside manner was the best I’ve ever experienced. The surgery went smoothly, and the results are absolutely beautiful—better than I could have imagined! I ended up paying a bit more than I originally planned but it was 100% worth every penny in order to have my procedure done the way I wanted it done. The entire staff was kind, supportive, and attentive throughout the whole process. The surgical center they use was also high quality and their staff was very kind and supportive as well. I can’t say enough positive things about my experience with Dr. Larson.
