About Dr. Mayer

Dr. Mayer Tenenhaus is a board-certified plastic surgeon, Research Scientist at the Veterans Medical Research Foundation, and Clinical Professor at UC San Diego, with over 36 years of experience. He earned his BS from SUNY Stony Brook in 1981 and his MD from the Sackler School of Medicine in 1987, then completed internship and residency training at Albany Medical College and Case Western Reserve University, followed by fellowships at UC San Diego and Nassau County Medical Center. Dr. Tenenhaus has a particular interest in wound care, burn surgery, and complex reconstructive procedures.
