I had top surgery with Dr. Mofid in February 2025. While I am very satisfied with how my results look, the treatment I received post-op was bare minimum and this negligence led to complications further down the line.
When I asked if I should be doing physical therapy to help me ease back into my usual activities, Dr. Mofid told me “you’re young, you’ll be fine.” I was left without my full range of motion well past the “6-8 weeks = back to normal” mark. On top of that, my shoulders atrophied. I went through what was essentially a second recovery trying to rebuild muscle and finally regaining my range of motion. At the very least, if Dr. Mofid was not going to recommend physical therapy, he could have offered a list of exercises on how to make my upper body functional again.
Each time I visited the office, Dr. Mofid rushed me out. I had to stop him whenever I had questions. It’s one thing to be efficient and down to business and then there is… this. He clearly does not care about his patients and it was a shock the one time he remembered my name. Plus, he was weird about me not wanting to keep my nipples and he kept bringing it up like he wanted me to change my mind. The kindness of his other staff, however, does somewhat make up for his nonexistent bedside manner.
Overall, Dr. Mofid strikes me as someone who cares more about aesthetics than his patients’ wellbeing and recovery. He will do a good job on the surgery itself, but after that you’re on your own.
I strongly recommend that anyone who pursues top surgery to get physical therapy/some kind of rehabilitation, and be assertive that you need it.
