About Dr. Michael

Dr. Michael Longaker is a world-renowned plastic surgeon and researcher, holding the Deane P. and Louise Mitchell Professorship of Surgery at Stanford School of Medicine, where he directs Children's Surgical Research. He earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed general surgery residency at UCSF, plastic surgery residency at NYU, and a craniofacial fellowship at UCLA. Dr. Longaker is internationally recognized for his pioneering work in fetal wound healing, stem cell biology, and regenerative medicine, having trained under Dr. Michael Harrison at UCSF. He has authored hundreds of peer-reviewed publications and is affiliated with Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford.
