I was pressured to see Markiewicz by a fraudulent orthodontist. I had two appointments that were each 5 minutes long. I was told to have three surgeries on my jaw, two to remove both pallets and move them forward. No one could tell my why I needed this instead of braces. Very rude and "used car salesman" attitude ("trust me this is best"). Eventually Markiewicz stated braces "would not fix the problem." Shockingly, a more knowledgeable doctor provided braces and my issues disappeared. Also, I didn't have to have my jaw wired shut for several weeks...twice. So, always get a second opinion after this guy. In addition, staff do not return calls, at all. I had to literally walk into the office to schedule the initial appt, and to reschedule a follow up.

DO NOT get JAW SURGERY with Dr Markiewicz. I had double jaw surgery a year ago that ruined my life! I was lied to about my treatment plan, my jaw is crooked now, my teeth no longer touch, I have breathing issues, developed sleep apnea since he closed my airway, sagging mid face which makes me look 50 and I’m 25, speech problems, and my entire face from my nose to my chin is numb. I have had multiple surgeons confirm he botched me but most surgeons won’t do revisions so at this point my life is ruined at 25. I got this surgery only having a bad bite, no real medical problems. I hope I can save someone with this post

My husband, Robert, has been a patient of Dr. Markiewicz for two years. Dr. Markiewicz is an excellent Dental Physician. He is very knowledgeable, professional, kind and easy to talk to. He is also a Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UB School of Dentistry. He is Excellent! His staff and the Dental Students who work with him are also amazing. A wonderful experience every time we have an appointment with him.

I had a very rare form of Squamous Cell Carcinoma in the nasal lining (Mucosal) of my nose. I made an appointment with Dr. Markiewicz and that was the best thing I could have ever done!! He is a very kind, gentle and extremely well educated doctor. He recommended surgery at Roswell (the place to be if you have cancer. They are the best!) and he and his team (who were fantastic as well) did an absolutely amazing job. I had a total of 3 surgeries and then 20 radiation treatments. From what I looked like after the initial surgery compared to today (6 months later) is a miracle. You can barely notice what I went through. I want to thank Dr. Markiewicz and his team of doctors for all of their great work!!! I just had a great CT scan 2 weeks ago and I can attribute that to the wonderful work Dr. Markiewicz performed. You will NOT be disappointed if you chose him for your care!! One more thing is that his office staff at UB has been extremely helpful and supportive. It was nice to see people treating others with kindness and compassion. Thank you 🙏🏻 😊

exceptional oral surgeon

Dr. Markowitz performed an extensive construction surgery on my lower jaw which was paper thin. I referred to him by my dentist. From the first visit all the way to the last visit Dr. Markowitz and his team were with me throughout my surgery and recovery. The surgery took 5 hours and required an overnight stay in the hospital. My lower jaw now has plenty of bone, which was implanted during the surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Markowitz and if I have any other issues in the future, I will definitely return to him for my care.
