I entrusted Dr. Bluebond-Langner and her colleague Dr. Zhao (urologist) at NYU Langone for gender affirming surgery in December 2024. I can say without hesitation that this is one of the premier practices in the U.S., and probably the entire world! It is clear that Dr. Bluebond-Langner takes her patients' journeys and decisions to heart. Both she and Dr. Zhao took considerable time to answer all of my questions at my consultation visit and in the lead-up to surgery - no matter how small - including on the morning of the surgery itself! The surgical technique used, robot-assisted peritoneal flap vaginoplasty, allows for high-precision and consistent outcomes with low risk for complications. Definitely read up on the practice's website and in the surgeons' clinical publications to learn more about the technique. All that said, words cannot express how thrilled I am with my own outcome - medically, aesthetically, and tactilely. Convalescence and recovery were extraordinarily smooth. I have absolutely zero regrets about my choice to work with Dr. Bluebond-Langner and Dr. Zhao. Furthermore, I met some of the most exemplary medical professionals during my stay in the hospital after surgery on the 11th floor at NYU Langone's Kimmel Pavilion. Also, the entire team of clinicians and support staff at the clinic are equally invested in their patients' care and available for support. If you are considering gender affirming surgery, you can choose this practice knowing you will be in great hands. Do not be discouraged by long wait times for consultations or for surgery dates. In my case, it was about three years. It is absolutely worth the wait!

SHE'S THE BEST!!! I do not say that lightly. I've done my homework. I researched all the surgeons. I read about their techniques and results. It all revealed that Dr. Bluebond-Langer and Dr. Zhao are the best because of their proven results. Quick recovery. Less intrusive. Functionality. Now, here I am a year after my surgery. I could not be happier. Dr. Bluebond's team is tremendous. I worked with her team to ensure that I had all of the appropriate paperwork submitted, and yes sometimes needed to update that information. I worked with them to ensure that my insurance was all in line. I worked with them to check on my dates and preparedness. The two lessons I learned throughout this process was (1) you are responsible for you. Take that responsibility to ensure that your information is correct, updated and submitted. You are not their only patient. (2) Have a good team behind you. I had my therapist (which is a must) and my primary care physician as my gatekeepers to ensure that i was ready and both of them along with Dr. Bluebond became part of my team on making this all happen. Yes, SHE IS THE BEST!

Had a wonderful journey with Dr Bluebon-Langner. Amazing results and am beyond happy with my body and with the support I have received since. Highly recommend working with her. All of my ftm friends in NYC have gotten top surgery from her and everyone is happy with the results. Beyond grateful to live in a place with such amazing access to gender affirming care.

My vaginoplasty experience here was life changing. Dr. Bluebond-Langner is not only an amazing surgeon but also a genuinely caring person. The results are beautiful, and I feel affirmed every day. The nurses and office staff were patient and supportive, even when I had a million questions during recovery. I absolutely recommend this team to anyone considering surgery.

I saw Dr. Bluebond-Langner at a consult for bottom surgery at NYU Langone Health in July 2024. She told me at the time I was a good candidate and we would proceed. They informed me last week that she'd changed her mind. I argued with the social worker and called the patient advocate and am awaiting follow up. But as of right now I have no date for bottom surgery. All this was conveyed through a social worker and the doctor refused to speak with me. NYU was caught canceling minors' gender affirming surgery appointments this year due to Trump's orders. They didnt announce the policy but word spread among parents. This despite the state ordering them to continue. It appears they have begun to do this with adult patients as well. I'd advise those seeking care to avoid NYU Langone. They have wasted the last two years of my life and left me hopeless.
