I met with Dr. Mayer about a month after having surgery with another doctor who lowered my hairline too much. His consultation alone is worth it -- he takes the time to go into detail about what he plans to do and even shows photos so you can fully understand what the procedure and recovery will be like. After meeting with about a dozen surgeons on both the East and West Coast, I came to understand just how limited my options really are. He still remained my top choice. I never felt that he was trying to push unnecessary procedures. His pricing was in line with other surgeons I consulted, and he was clear that he would not recommend something unless he believed it could lead to a good outcome. I found him to be sharp, thoughtful, and extremely knowledgeable about facial structure and surgical planning. His team was also incredibly professional, patient, and responsive. Overall, I would recommend this office to anyone considering any facial surgery.

I booked and paid $300 for a consultation, but never ended up consulting with him because, after more research, I discovered he doesn't do the particular procedure I was looking for. When I called to clarify, the staff gave me a call back in a timely manner with the right answer and let me know he doesn't do it. I canceled my consultation and they offered to refund my consultation fee. I think that was very fair and honest of them to give me my money back and wish me well on my endeavors.

I had my nose done some time ago about 6 years, and have had nothing but issues including: Deviated septum, crooked nose tip, uneven nostrils, and a floating piece of cartilage in the bridge of my nose. Doctor tried to correct some of my issues in the office without anesthesia, but nothing changed. My whole experience with Dr. Mayer seemed purely transactional and uncaring, and unconcerned with my issues. Now my right nostril closes up anytime I am doing any heavy breathing, like when exercising. It has gotten to the point where I can't run anymore because I can't breathe properly. Now I am having to find another surgeon to correct the issues. I went to meet Doctor Mayer to correct my septum and he refuses to help me or offer any assistance whatsoever. My advice is go to another doctor.

Toby is honestly amazing. There's a reason he has specialized in FFS for so long. I did a lot of research before meeting with Toby. His before and after photos from other patients stood out to me as some of the most beautiful and natural looking results out there. Upon meeting him I knew he was the right fit. He and his team were so wonderful to work with. Everyone in his office is extremely kind and compassionate, and their mission to help you feel more at home in your own body was apparent in every interaction I had with them. I am a handful of months post-op now, and I LOVE my results. I still look like me, but with wonderfully feminine features. I would recommend to anyone thinking about FFS to make an appointment with Toby!

Dr. Mayer is an excellent surgeon. From my experience with both FFS and VFS he has changed my life for the positive. I am currently about 1.5 years out from surgery and being transgender have experienced the ability to blend in the world and be more comfortable in my own skin since surgery. His results speak for themselves.
