Dr. Liu did DIEP flap reconstructive surgery after my second mastectomy. First, I must say that microsurgery component of re-connecting blood vessels must have been done well, because there've been no consequences from Liu's internal work. However, the outward part of his work I see every day is quite ugly, and looks clumsily done. The scar across my abdomen is wavy and has bulges above and below. This is not due to weight gain; it has been this way since day one. My breasts constructed from abdomen tissue are visibly uneven. I complained about this to Dr. Yuen, who refused to acknowledge the obvious discrepancy, even though I had done some measuring to prove my point. I was exhausted at this point by Kaiser Permanente's failures as regards to prophylactic mastectomy and reconstruction. I just put my tail between my legs and gave up. Daily, for 9 years, and perhaps for decades to come, I see this poor work done on my body. Hope his skills are better now.

very poor... argued with me about options... flatly panned the concerns I had about the result of reconstruction... refused to listen to my concerns about signs of infection and i wound up with MRSA, removal of the implants and in a total mess
